Getting Started on Your New Website

Congratulations on your move into cyberspace! It seems a bit daunting at times, what with all the new lingo and all, but don't worry, the internet is just people looking for what they want in a new way.

Choosing a Domain Name

Before you can open your website, you need your own address, called a domain name. If you already have a domain name, great, but if you don't, we can work with you to find a name that your current customers will find easy to remember and use, and that will attract new customers to your site.

Determining your Content

Before you begin, you should ask yourself how you intend to use your website. Is it just to provide a few details, like opening times, phone number and location, or do you want to communicate more information? Whatever your goals, it is a good idea to collect and organize all the text, pictures, and facts that you'd like to put on the site, preferably in digital format. If you find all this overwhelming, don't worry. Moto-Zulli can help you produce content, or help you make sense from those piles of brochures and press releases you already have!

Decide How Much Web Site You Need

The stack of content you've already collected will give you a good idea of how large your new site should be. Beyond your current needs, what are your future goals? It's a good idea to anticipate and plan for some growth to avoid having to re-design the site in a few years. If you intend to publish a newsletter in a year, now is a good time to start collecting names for your mailing list. Likewise, if you plan to expand your dealer network, now is a good time to think about a dealer-only ordering system and website. It is easier to lay the groundwork while the current site is in development, than it will be later.
